About the work
This picture was taken in Mandalay, Burma. This 1.2 km wooden footbridge is the longest teak bridge in the world. It was built by the mayor, U Bein, salvaging the unwanted teak columns from the old palace during the move to Mandalay.
About Monique Jansen
Monique Jansen started with photography about 10 years ago; around the same time she started travelling in Asia. She quickly discovered She likes to combine these three essential elements in her photography. Expressive travel photography also makes the most out of color. Color not only attracts the eye and stimulates our senses, but it also can represent or symbolize ideas that can help us convey ideas to others.
